Intel’s high-performance Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU is now discounted to $279.99 at Amazon, marking a significant price drop. Benchmarks show it rivals AMD’s top CPUs and outperforms some Intel models, making it a compelling choice for gamers and PC builders.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, touted by Intel as one of its fastest gaming desktop processors, is now available at a record-low price of $279.99 at Amazon, representing a $50 discount from its usual retail price.

Released in late March, the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus has been recognized for its high performance, with benchmarks from Gamers Nexus indicating it competes closely with AMD’s Ryzen 9000-series CPUs equipped with X3D cache technology. It also outperforms Intel’s own Core i9 14900K in several tasks, according to recent tests.

The CPU requires an LGA 1851 socket motherboard supporting DDR5 RAM, Wi-Fi 7, and multiple M.2 SSDs, making it suitable for high-end gaming setups and PC enthusiasts. The current price of $279.99 is available at Amazon, about $45 below its regular retail price. Micro Center also offers bundles with discounted RAM, though overall PC component costs remain high.

Why It Matters

This price drop makes a top-tier gaming CPU more accessible to consumers, potentially influencing PC building and upgrade decisions. Given its performance benchmarks, the 270K Plus could challenge more expensive AMD and Intel options, impacting the competitive landscape and consumer choices in high-performance desktop CPUs.

Background

Intel announced the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus in late March as part of its push into high-performance gaming processors.
